I am a retired Police Sergeant succuming to Esophageal Cancer in 1991. I had a complete esophagus removal in 1986 after suffering, from birth, acid reflux due to a missing flap at the end of my esophagus causing me to develope Barrett's esophagus. In 1986 I was diagnosed with Cancer resulting from the Barretts. I did not require any post treatments, mainly because they were not widely used back in 1986. Learning to adjust to a new digestive system, with my stomach attached to the back of my throat has certainly been a challenge over the next 26 years. However with God's support and great family and friend's support I have survived amid many life's changes brought on by this dramatic change in lifestyle. I now successfully own and operate my own broadcasting radio station and living a comfortable life.
