I'm a 69-year old grandmother of 10, a writer, an avid free style dancer, and a therapist in private practice. I live near the Mayo Clinic and had my Ivor Lewis surgery done there by a surgeon who does 35 a year. I sailed through weeks of chemo/radiation, but spent four months in the hospital on a feeding tube after the surgery. I've now had 8 clean PET scans since then and I'm 100% healthy other than being a tiny size zero. Malnutrition will be a problem forever given that I have absolutely no appetite ever. I've written a book (not published yet) called "Dancing With Cancer". With a pic line in my arm attached to a chemo pump, I danced every week! The doctors believe that dancing saved my life. Note: for some reason this bio recorded 40 years since my diagnosis; it's actually only 3!!
