Well it’s been a whirlwind trip to get to the other side of this disease (fingers crossed). I was diagnosed in September of 2013 and by 10/28 I was done with my 6 chemo treatments, 25 radiation treatments, had a port put in for the chemo and threatened with a feeding tube if I didn’t eat more. By this point I just wasn’t hungry. Surgery was 5 weeks later, had an amusing 14 day hospital stay. I was very fortunate that so far I have had no complications. Had my 3 month follow-up cat scan and checkup on 3/10/14 and so far everything is good. I have a walking trip to Canada planned for June with a few friends, so now my goal is to keep and positive attitude and work at getting my physical strength back.
Years since diagnosed:5

Hi missy, so happy to hear you are cancer free! My mom, age 64, was diagnosed on Friday with EC, they are not sure if it is stage 2 or 3 yet as they are waiting for results of her pet scan, which she is scheduled for on this Saturday. She is starting radiation and chemo early next week. I am scared and clueless as I have no idea what to expect. I am reaching out because my mom cannot eat hardly anything and it breaks my heart. She basically chokes on anything - she has been eating cheesecake, ice cream and eggs. And shakes. I was wondering if you had any ideas suggestions on foods or shakes ? Not sure if you will but thought I would ask. Thank you for sharing your success story and I hope my mom can share one day too! Also, any feedback for what I can do for her post radiation/chemo treatments? Expectations ? Advice on this scary road we are about to embark on? Thanks again! read more.
