I was diagnosed with EC in August of 2000 at the age of 50. I had 28 days of radiation and 3 rounds of chemo. That knocked the cancer out. I had a very aggressive surgeon and decided to have surgery to take out part of my esophagus and a stomach pull-up. Had a feeding tube for a while but eventually learned how to eat and how not to eat. Since then have had good years and bad years. Had a bleeding ulcer in 2015 that took 4 months to heal. They were close to removing my stomach when it healed. I now have the ulcer again since Feb and it is not healing. Also have an issue with my colon having crept up through the hole in my diaphragm and it is laying agaist one of my lungs. Effects my breathing a little but not too bad. Since the diagnosis, I have been blessed with seven grandchildren. So I am not crying about this life I have been given. That's my story. And I'm sticking to it. Would love to hear from people about the ulcer and colon issues, or anything else you would like to talk about.
