My life was perfect. I was in business for myself, had a wonderful wife, successful children and learning how to enjoy my time. Then, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Life turned upside down. I underwent months of chemotherapy coupled with radiation therapy, all culminating in an entirely invasive surgery. I had virtually every complication to that surgery the doctors told me about and spent more than 30 days in the hospital, as opposed to just the 10 predicted. Since then, I've had half a dozen procedures and an additional surgery. It is now shy of 2 years since I was diagnosed, only 5 months since my last surgery and I'm back to work full-time, in the gym 6 days a week and again learning how to enjoy life. If only eating wasn't so difficult and painful.
