74 year old Retired USAF C-130 crew dog. Physically active, a little overweight, happily married and father of five girls. Diagnosed in 2014 during a routine exam due to Barrett's, with cancerous polyp. This was removed at Univ of Alabama (UAB) hospital in Birmingham and RFA was administered to address he Barrett's. all clear for a year and a half, when more cancer cell were detected. Now preparing for a partial removal of the lower portion of the esophagus.

Hey Joseph, My name is Hal Inman. I too am an old retired (AF) military guy here in Alabama. I have the dreaded \"C\" disease and am preparing to have the lower portion of my esophagus removed. I am presently at stage 1B. I have had no symptoms from day one and I am somewhat concerned about what to expect post surgery. How long was it before you started driving again? Will it take months before I feel half way normal again? How are your eating habits affected? I guess everyone is different but it is the unknown that bothers me.
