I was diagnosed with Stage2/Stage 3 adenocarcinoma in February 2016. Underwent 5 rounds of chemotheraoy and 23 radiaition sessions. I had a transhiatal esophagectomy on July 1 2016. In this entire process I lost about 50 lbs, I wasn't large to begin with. I went from 180 lbs to 130 lbs. I was fortunate to have a great surgeon (Dr Oeschlager) and staff at the University of Washingtom Medical Center. 2 months out and I have most of the complications mentioned by others here, Though so far, dumping has not reared it's ugly head. My main frustration is a lack of appetite. It is hard to eat 5-6 meals a day when you feel no hunger. Lower abdominal discomfort and cramping is also a constant issue
