I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer Stage II-B adenocarcinoma in September 2011. My treatment consisted of chemotherapy and radiation followed by an esophaectomy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
The support of family and friends was instrumental in getting me through such a rigorous treatment plan. I am committed to raising awareness of Esophageal Cancer and providing support to others as they fight EC, whether it is patients, caregivers or people at risk.
My life has forever changed because of EC. I am grateful for every day, and hope that I can help others who are struggling with this disease. I am honored to serve on the board of ECAA those mission of providing outreach and education, raising awareness and research support is of the utmost importance to working to conquer this disease often referred to as “the Beast.”
I earned a BS in Accountancy from Bridgewater State College graduating Magna Cum Laude. I am a Certified Public Accountant and a Principal with Kevin P. Martin & Associates, P.C., a Boston-based CPA.
I live in Easton, Massachusetts with my wonderful husband, and I am blessed with three children, a daughter-in-law and a grandchild.
